It's totally long, but for some reason it didn't feel like that while I was answering it. So I added some visuals for fun. XD

Favorite drama overall: I think I'm one of the few people who find answering this question totally easy: Gokusen, most definitely. It's the one reason why I'm even into doramas, anyway. I think I'm unconsciously trying to find another drama that will make me feel like Gokusen did, the first time around (and also the second time, and the third, and the fourth and so on).

Least favorite drama: There isn't any specific title, but rather a dorama genre. I really can't stand to finish uber angsty dramas where one of the leads is terminally ill. Which would explain why I still have 3 episodes of 1 Litre of Tears left to finish, and why I only got around to finishing the first episode of Taiyou na Kisetsu. Other people are allowed to enjoy them, it's really just a matter of preference. I prefer light, fun things, with a dash of crack, and equal standing romance.

Drama that everyone loves except for you: 1 Litre of Tears, then? I really can't bring myself to finish it. I know it has its merits, but I just can't. I get bored, rather than touched every time people cry on the screen. -__- Also, Kurosagi. At the rate I am going, I'm not sure I'll even get around to finishing it.

Drama that you love though no one else does: Good Luck!! I love this series, whereas everybody else seems to prefer Pride. I love it's simplicity and down-to-earth-ness, and I love the characters and the relationship build-up. Although you've probably heard all about my love for it already, so I'll just shut up now.

Drama you never thought you’d love as much as you do now: Nodame Cantabile! And I'm not even done with it!! I know this was one of the most anticipated dramas of the Autumn 2006 dorama season, but I didn't really think much of it then. The classical music thing maybe turned me off? Not to mention that the rumor of the Perfect Girl Evolution dorama was mixed up with this just made me feel all bitter. But now, I can't believe I almost didn't see this! I love practically everything about it -- the characters, the relationships. the cast ensemble, the development, the crack (OH! The CRACK!), hey, even the music I'm starting to appreciate!

Drama you thought you’d love much more: Gachibaka. From the summary, you'd think it's the exact kind of light cheery fun I'd enjoy. I couldn't stand it! I can't even get halfway through! Which is why I'm stuck at episode 6, I think? Plus Tego's character is trying too hard to be Sawada Shin. TRY AGAIN! Tego, honey, roles like that are not for you. Stick to Sakura-nantoka-like roles from now on. Also, Kurosagi. The summary appealed to me, but when I actually started watching, I just didn't find myself drawn to it. I didn't even feel the urge to watch one episode after another.

Angstiest drama: Like I said, I tend to stay away from angst, so I'm not sure what would be my answer to this right now.

Fluffiest/funniest drama: Shouldn't there be a "Crackiest drama" question somewhere here? Because I know for sure, I'm answering TricK to that one. ♥ Funniest would, of course, be Gokusen. Like there's be any other answer from me, haha. (Although Nodame Cantabile is really really REALLY making me laugh right now ~ ♥)

Most Melodramatic Drama: 1 Litre of Tears. It was too melodramatic actually, which is why I still haven't finished it.

Favorite drama hero: Virtual cookies to anyone who can guess. Any takers? Haha, NO DUH. Sawada Shin, of course. Of course, I love Shin in all forms, be it manga or anime or dorama. Of course, it helps a lot that he was played by Matsumoto Jun. But then again, I fell in love with Jun because he was Shin, not the other way around.

Favorite drama heroine: Yamaguchi Kumiko. YANKUMI! See above answer. As with Jun, I ended up adoring Yukie because she did an awesome job as Yankumi.

The drama heroine that would rule the world: It's like all my answers revolve around Gokusen. T___T Yankumi, still. She'd rule the world, and make us all experience the delights of youth!! *rolls over* But a world ruled by Nodame? Would also be all shades of awesome.

Hero I’d take home to mother: I was going to say Shin again (and I would! I would! I really would, given the chance) but then I realized that Shinkai the Pilot (Good Luck!!) would be wonderful with mothers. He's successful, optimistic, real (not real as in a real person -- c'mon, you know what I mean), and very easy to get along with. Any mother would love him.

Evilest drama parent: Domyouji Kaede, la la la. And what is up with those eyebrows?! Can't she afford to have them evened out?!

Most awesome drama parent (a small category): Kuroda Ryuichiro, (the grandfather) from Gokusen, and Yamamoto Shimako, (the mother-in-law) from Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta! Maa~ Yukie Nakama gets the coolest parents. :p

Worst drama outfit: Those fucking flowery shirts blouses, Matsumoto Jun (as Domyouji Tsukasa) wore in Hana Yori Dango. Or, you know, that hideous gold pimp suit he wore at the end of Hana Yori Dango Returns. *shudders* Domyouji is The Worst Dresser EVER.

Craziest drama fashion: Jun seems to always get stuck with the weirdest fashion choices, because I'm going to have to say Momo, from Kimi wa Petto. Woah at the N.U.T.S. t-shirt!! Haha. Also, the costumes in Kurosagi.

Best drama kiss: Either the Shinkai/Ogawa kiss at the end of Good Luck!! or the Tsukasa/Tsukushi kiss at the end of Hana Yori Dango Returns. Not that I was amazed by either. On-screen Japanese kisses, to be honest, are kind of weird to look at. Chemistry between my favorite couples are usually more prominent when they're just snarking, anyway. (And they do kiss in jdramas. KimuTaku, for one, always gets to kiss his heroines. And Jun kisses both his ex-girlfriend and Koyuki in KimiPet. They're not awesome, heart-wrenching kisses, and I guess Japanese are prudes like that, but still, they kiss.)

Best rain scene (come on, every single drama has one :D): Hana Yori Dango (both seasons) wins at rain scenes. ♥

Favorite drama couple: Shin/Yankumi (Gokusen, come on it was implied damn it, Shin/Kumiko owns the universe!) and Tsukasa/Tsukushi (Hana Yori Dango). Although since even before I saw those doramas, I'd already been shipping them (due to being a fan of the respective manga), so I'd have to say Shinkai/Ayumi from Good Luck!! What I like so much about them is that they're equals (despite the difference in job status). I like my 'ships like that.

Worst drama couple: That girl from Gachibaka and whoever she ended up with between Tego and Massu. I CANNOT STAND HER. T_T

Most UST couple: Ueda and Naoko, in TricK. No-Boobs and Big Peenz!! ♥ (Although where, oh where, was most of that tension in Season 2? :/)

Couple You Never Thought You’d Root For, before Drama:

Most awesome gang of friends: 3-D gumi!! I am telling you, Gokusen owns my soul, which is enough reason why most of these answers are related to it. But come on, my answer is still justified, Gokusen obsession aside. Class 3-D is fun and rambunctious, but they are delinquents with pride and dignity will always stand by each other, no matter what.

Best Guy-Girl Friendship: The Orange Society, from Orange Days. Specifically the relationship between Sae and Shohei and Keita. I especially loved when the two boys learned to sign, not because they pitied her or anything of the sort, but because they genuinely liked her, and wanted to be able to communicate with her better. Aww. And Mine and Nodame, so far, in Nodame Cantabile.

Favorite secondary OTP: Mine/Kiyora (Nodame Cantabile)!! I saw it right at the beginning when they first interacted, and at first at thought maybe it was all in my head and that I just wanted Eita to play a character who gets a girl for once but then people started telling me that something actually comes of it so I'm very VERY happy, because they seem like a couple I could ship even more than I ship the main couple.

Favorite “Third Person” in a love triangle: Jun Ki's character in My Girl. I liked him so much I stopped watching, because I couldn't bear seeing him not get the girl. Did that even make any sense? ^^; This was the first time I ever set eyes on Jun-ki, and for the longest time (well, more like a little more than 24 hours, while I was unable to access the DramaWiki), I called him 'Jeong-woo' haha. And Gong-chan was okay and all, but I really really REALLY wanted Jeong-woo to get the girl. :/

Least favorite “Third Person” in a love triangle: THAT GIRL in Gachibaka. Maybe I would have continued watching the show if I knew Tego and Massu's characters were going to get together in the end, instead, LOL. And that annoying girl from Full House. Guh.

Favorite drama actor: Matsumoto Jun, most definitely. I Like Tamayama Tetsuji and Abe Hiroshi too, though. And I'd watch anything with Tsumabuki Satoshi, Oguri Shun and/or Eita in it. But Matsumoto Jun still wins over all of them combined.

Favorite drama actress: Three way tie! Nakama Yukie, Inoue Mao and Shibasaki Kou. Girl crushes ahoy! I have also discovered a newfound love and appreciation for Ueno Juri though.

Hottest drama actor: Tamayama Tetsuji. I am positively in love with Jun, but when it comes to hotness? Tetsuji sizzles.

Hottest drama actress: I can't think of anyone I'd describe as 'hot.' The adjectives for most of the female actresses that come to mind are 'lovely' and 'adorable' and 'cute' and other similar words.

Actor/actress you wish would make more dramas: TAMAYAMA TETSUJI!! Or at least I hope more people would sub the stuff he's been in. :/

A couple you want to see paired again (that don’t have an upcoming drama): Matsumoto Jun and Nakama Yukie. ♥

A couple you want to see together for the first time: Matsumoto Jun and Nagasawa Masami? Matsumoto Jun and Ueno Juri?

Manga you’d want to see adopted into a drama: I have a list right here, at the top of which, Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge!! ♥ I just might die of happiness if it happens. Only, you know, I'd have to be resurrected so I could actually watch it. But really, PLEASE. I want it. Badly. ><

Worst manga-to-live-action adaptation: Uh, I'm not sure. The live action adaptations of manga I loved (Gokusen, Hana Yori Dango) rocked my world. I can't think of any other manga adapted (from ones I've read of course) dorama I've seen that disappointed me. Even the Taiho Shichauzo! adaptation had its positive sides, despite the fact that they completely replaced Tokairin with Okobayashi. And sure, I found the Lovely Complex movie a bit lacking in some parts (esp when I look at it in retrospect), but I think maybe Teppei made up for all those things it lacked. Plus, it was a movie, not a dorama series.

Best manga-to-live-action adaptation: If I'd been filling this out a few years ago, I'd have probably said Gokusen. But the manga, as it progressed, turned out to be the most awesome out of all Gokusen mediums, and it is a dozen times better than the dorama at this point, so, I guess, I'd have to say Hana Yori Dango. I know the dorama is kind of overrated at this point, but I loved the manga, and I loved the dorama just as much. It was a fiercely loyal adaptation, albeit with some creative (but understandable and well made) changes. And I loved that it had a pretty closed ending by the time the second season was done.

Unsubbed drama that you wish was subbed: I'd say Roketto Boisu, but my friends (d.r.e.g.s.s.) already have plans for it (YAY THEM!) so maybe Bokura Yuuki ~ Miman Toushi? It's practically the only title on Jun's dorama list that is left unsubbed, haha.

Favourite drama soundtrack: Ehhhh. It's not like there's a dorama out there that had Yoko Kanno compose its soundtrack, pfft. Is there? LOL. I guess I don't have a favorite, although I really love Roketto Boisu's opening and ending themes. NAINO? is especially catchy and campy.

Favourite tears-your-heart-out angst scene: That scene in HYD 2.01, where Tsukushi runs after Tsubaki (who was in her car) and then cries her heart out, and finally admits that she really really REALLY loves Domyouji, and that she really wanted to be with him, no matter what.
Tsukushi: Honestly, always, this whole time... My head was completely filled with thoughts of him. As much as we don't know one another, I couldn't think... Even though -- with him... with him, always... I told myself to abandon him, abandon him and to forget him. But even though I tried to concentrate on other things, for some reason I still keep thinking of him. It's to the point where I think myself pathetic. To the point where I dislike myself. I... like him so much. But -- but I didn't think I could go on like this so...
Most anticipated drama: Bambino! I'm pretty excited about Mayonaka no March and Proposal Daisakusen too, though.

Ano yung "UST couple?" Para masagutan ko din to, LOL. Ueno Juri in Engine rocks!!

At ewan ko lang kung nakalimutan mo or di mo talaga trip pero, ung kissing scenes ni MatsuJun at ni Koyuki sa KimiPet are hot! XD XD XD

At ang #1 sagot sa worst manga to dorama adaptation: HANAKIMI!! TAIWANESE DRAMA! Arghhhhhhhh!!! Pababoy talaga un ever. Kahit na gwapo si Wu Zun.

Wow! Interesting ! Seems like a LOT of work! Respect !!! ^-^/

So it´s Gokusen ?
Well I like Gokusen as well, but it could never be my fav one. Because I new the story all along ... from GTO (not the drama at first, but the manga/anime) ... and Gokusen is PRETTY much the same. Nevertheless good in its own way. But I guess this is one of the reasons why it´s NOT my fav drama ^^;;

I agree with what you said about Gachibaka, I was rather disappointed as well. But it´s more or less the same storyline as in Gokusen or GTO (ieks all with a G!! XD) but it´s by far not as good as those 2.

apanese kisses, to be honest, are kind of weird to look at.
I totally agree! XDDDDDDDDD

I hated the rain scene in HYD2 ... because it was one of the BEST scenes in the manga and .... in the drama ... I wasn´t touched at all .. I was really disappointed :/

That girl from Gachibaka was btw. in the Detective Conan Special as Ran Mouri (Oguri Shun was Shinichi Kudou of course XD)

Oh interesting: Manga I would want to see as a drama: DEFINITELY Captain Tsubasa with ALL the hotties of course (played by MatsuJun, Oguri Shun, Satoshi etc.) THAT would be TOO great !! XD

WWOOOO! Yes I LOVED that scene where Makino cried to Tsubaki a LOOOOT!!! It was really great ^__^

Kihihi~ yes and WHO is not looking forward to Bambino?? ^-^

Gokusen was my first Teacher anime/manga/dorama, so, yeah, if you ask me to choose among all the teacher stories out there, I'd definitely choose it. Although, I think even if I was introduced to GTO first I'd still prefer Yankumi to Onizuka. But then that's just me.

HYD 1 Rain Scene >> HYD 2 Rain Scene. But I answered those two anyway, because to be honest, I can't remember any other rain scene from any other dorama. (I know it's a dorama cliche, but the HYD ones stuck, because, yeah, the manga.)

I haven't seen or read Captain Tsubasa because it's sooooo long already, but it's about soccer right? And if it has the cast you're proposing? Count me in!! ♥ (I can be so shallow sometimes. T_T)

That scene where Tsukushi cried? Was one of the rare moments that I actually felt teary eyed while watching HYD.

Really ? I don´t know if I would like Gokusen much more if THIS had been my FIRST teacher story ^^;;; ....

Yes, Captain Tsubasa is pretty old (like Attack No. 1 or Ace wo nerae and these 2 already have dramas ;__; ...) and it´s about soccer with tons of hot guys so .... WE WANN SEE THAT!!! XDDDD

*nods* Same for me :/ such a cute scene !! ^-^

*shrugs* I dunno. Gokusen has Shin, and none of the other teacher stories do. :p * is shallow that way* LOL.

First of all, I commend you for all the effort you put into this meme. I usually don't read them kasi it tends to get long pero with your viuals, it was worth it!

-thumbs up-

Now on to my reactions.

1.I would fill up this meme if I was as industrious as you and get caps of course. Now I am just content on making icons of matusjun, oguri and later hikki for my 100 icon challenge.
2. Gokuse really made a deep impact on you huh?
3.About KimiTaku: I don't know if I should watch more shows of his dra,as. So far I've only watched 2 of his which is Beautiful Life and Sora kara Fukuichioku(A Million Stars Falling from the Sky). I feel like his acting for me in both of these series is kinda...quirky, awkward. Oh, his kisses are hot and he is hot but I just...feel that his delivery, the way he acts is too aloof for me, too disjointed, too detached from everything. Just my 2 sentimos.
4. Just replying to you and reacting to you is making me want to this meme and even involve pictures. ugh.
5.Worst dressed, yep. I agree. The costume designer for MatsuJun should be shot. Even if you were rich and had designer clothes and most of them are pretty out there in high fashion, his just looks tacky.
6. For best guy-girl friendship, I definitely agree on Orange Kai. Its just so real and down to earth for me, the drama. What makes it better is that its not only a "normal" group of friends but one is deaf. Only proving that nothing could stand in the way of friendship.
7. Waaaah!!! Maybe I should just answer this meme! What ya think?

Date: 2007-04-15 04:40 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] aoimidori.livejournal.com
I put in the visuals because I couldn't help myself. :p I'm glad it made you read this thing because it wasn't easy to do! LOL.

01. Do the meme! LOL, its fun. The visuals aren;t a necessity anyway (although it is fun with pictues! Haha.)

02. It really did. I saw the anime and manga before, and I loved them, which is actually why I decided to download the Gokusen dorama in the first place. Changed my life, LOL. I even remember not liking Jun for Shin at first. But look at me now, totally in love with the guy it's not even funny!

03. I haven't seen either of those KimuTaku dramas, but maybe his characters in them weren't right for him? Or something. I liked him in Good Luck!! And he was okay in Engine too. A lot of other people love him in Pride (which I've still to watch). Maybe you should try either of the three? :)

04. Do it! Do it! (Although I probably wouldn't have put the pictures in if I hadn't taken the caps myself, so, uh, yeah. :p)

05. I learned from HYD, that apparently, in Japan, having money equates to having the worst fashion sense, hahaha.

06. I really went 'awwww' when Sae found out that Keita and Shohei learned to sign because they liked her as a friend. Real friends do that, no?

07. I already said you should. It's fun. ;)

this meme is SO tempting to do...I may have to remember it for the next time I'm bored out of my skull. C:

But ahh, I wasn't too surprised by most of your answers being Gokusen. xDDD and your answers anytime Gachibaka came up made me laugh so hard. xDDD you'll be pleased to learn that it ends with both of them planning to leave the country to get as far away from her as possible :D

Gokusen is Gokusen and it will probably stay there at the top of my list. ♥ As for Gachibaka, GUH. Couldn't they have made it just a little bit more interesting? Geez.

And yay! Teg and Massu's character should just fly off to other countries together. Feh. :p

Favourite drama soundtrack: Ehhhh. It's not like there's a dorama out there that had Yoko Kanno compose its soundtrack, pfft. Is there? LOL

Since I added this bit to [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie's existing drama meme, I thought I'd say something. Dramas tend to have composed instrumental soundtracks and also songs that are not made specifically for the drama in mind but make it on the soundtrack for promotional purposes. In Taiwanese idol dramas, the stars of the show usually sing opening/ending songs on their own.

So basically if you like the songs featured on the show, you like the soundtrack. Some people don't even notice the songs, though, so it's okay if you don't have one. I tend to notice them because I'm so into music in general.
